Dr Richard Watts is a senior consultant anaesthetist (GP) at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Woodville South Australia. Prior to this he worked in Port Lincoln as a GP anaesthetist and obstetrician for 25 years. His research interests include rural anaesthesia (case selection), opioid sparing anaesthesia (esmolol), and deep block anaesthesia (sugammadex). Dr Watts is currently the RACGP representative on the ANZCA/RACGP/ACCRM Joint Consultative Committee on Anaesthesia and the working party for development of a Diploma of Rural General Practice Anaesthesia.
