Hospital for Special Surgery
Dr. Goytizolo graduated from the Regional Anaesthesia Fellowship Program at Hospital for Special Surgery in 1998. Following completion of his Fellowship, Dr Goytizolo spent 6 years at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, where he helped to develop a regional anaesthesia program. In 2004, Dr. Goytizolo was recruited back to Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Goytizolo’s main interest is the impact of anaesthesia on rehabilitation for orthopedic surgery.
A member of the Department’s Education Committee, he is involved in coordinating and establishing guidelines for our Regional Anaesthesia Fellows and rotating residents, among other academic initiatives. Dr. Goytizolo also oversees the Department’s Academic Observership Program, a program in which anaesthesiologists from all over the world come to HSS to observe our advanced regional anaesthetic techniques.
Dr. Goytizolo has given presentations at numerous international meetings and programs, lecturing on varied regional anaesthesia topics.
