Dr Huxtable gained her initial medical qualifications from the University of Adelaide, and went on to train as a rural GP. This led to the study of anaesthesia in the UK, obstetrics in Adelaide and her eventual return to SA country general practice with GP anaesthetics and obstetrics.

Changing family commitments led to a career ‘sea change’ and she is now in full-time anaesthetic practice in Adelaide..

Dr Huxtable’s current appointments are:
– Staff specialist at the RAH in the Dept of Anaesthesia, Pain and Hyperbaric Medicine,
– Member of the Acute Pain Service Team at the RAH,
– Part-time private anaesthetic specialist in Adelaide
– And part 2 examiner with ANZCA.

Her Special Anaesthetic Interests include Acute Pain Management and Opioid Pharmacology.
